Gundowring Homestead

Gundowring Station was established in 1838 by C H Barbour. Barbour married his first cousin, Mary Hume (niece of Hamilton Hume) in 1845 and held the property until his death in 1882. The homestead probably dates from c. 1860. It comprises a principal two storey wing, a bathroom/water tower wing and a single storey brick service wing. The principal wing has a three bay entrance facade and is surrounded on three sides by a two storey timber verandah.
